About the role
Dis-Chem is looking for a qualified Clinic Sister to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic based inside their Cornubia pharmacy. The role falls within the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner.
You will run the clinic day to day, seeing patients and delivering primary health care services while keeping accurate records and managing claims. The clinic operates within retail hours, so you need to be comfortable working a store schedule.
- Perform Clinic Sister duties according to industry regulations and best practice
- Manage the average feet per hour rate and set clinic objectives to enhance patient care
- Keep accurate patient records and ensure communication is followed up
- Process claims accurately and on time
- Ensure stock and equipment are in working condition and stock levels are sufficient
- Build healthy relationships with patients, the Store and Dispensary Manager, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers and community role players

Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
- Degree or Diploma in Midwifery
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Must obtain BHF registration
- 2 to 3 years experience practising as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI and cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV and AIDS pre and post counselling, breastfeeding, pathology and wound care
- Strong command of English, written and oral
- Strong analytical skills for monthly clinic statistics and commission
- Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, trustworthy and honest
- Ability to manage a team and yourself, self directed and self motivated
- Good time management
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
- South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records
Responsibilities
