Implats is looking for a Chief Professional Nurse to lead their Occupational Health Nursing and First Aid services at their Limpopo mining operation. About the role
Implats is seeking a Chief Professional Nurse to join their Occupational Health team in Limpopo. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the provision of quality Occupational Health Nursing and First Aid services according to professional standards.
What you will do:
- Identify departmental needs and resources to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Monitor and control activities through effective supervision, continuous in-service education and coaching in line with nursing laws.
- Ensure nursing practice standards are maintained and updated.
- Coordinate and liaise with other departments, the organisation, and external service providers.
- Manage information effectively through statistics and feedback reporting.
- Ensure the department operates within its budgetary plans.
- Attend promptly to client and patient concerns and complaints.
- Identify health and safety risks and develop preventive mechanisms.
- Participate in formulating emergency preparedness and disaster management procedures.
- Communicate organisational policies, procedures and changes to all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide quality health care to clients and patients at all levels of care, ensuring proper record keeping.
Requirements
- Nursing diploma or degree is essential
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse is essential
- Occupational Health Nursing diploma or degree is essential
- Dispensing Course Certificate is desirable
- Minimum of 5 years working experience as a Professional Nurse is essential
- Relieving experience as Chief Professional Nurse is desirable
Responsibilities
- Identify and determine departmental needs and resources to ensure smooth running of the department

- Ensure required standards of nursing practice are maintained and updated
- Coordinate and liaise with other departments within IMS, the organisation and external service providers
- Ensure effective management of information through reporting of statistics and feedback
- Ensure the department is managed within provided budgetary plans
- Attend promptly to customer and client concerns and complaints
- Identify health and safety risks and develop preventive mechanisms
- Participate in formulating emergency preparedness and disaster management procedures and protocols
- Continuously communicate organisational policies, procedures and changes to all relevant stakeholders
- Provide quality health care service to clients and patients at all levels of care and ensure proper record keeping
