About the role
Our client, a leading technology distributor for global brands in positioning, modelling, connectivity and data analytics, is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to lead their group of companies. This is a senior executive role based in Centurion with hybrid work arrangements.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Director and executive team to steer the business toward sustained growth and operational excellence. You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the group, ensuring each subsidiary and department aligns with the company's vision and goals.
Day to day, you can expect to engage with major global technology suppliers, oversee financial performance, and represent the company at industry events. You will also mentor a high performing executive team and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
This role requires someone who can balance big picture strategic thinking with hands on operational oversight. You will be expected to identify new market opportunities, drive business development, and maintain strong relationships with key clients, shareholders and suppliers across South Africa and the African continent.

Requirements
- A degree in Technology or Engineering plus a business related qualification
- Proven track record of executive leadership and innovation in an engineering or technology organisation
- Experience in the geospatial, engineering, mining, construction or agricultural industry preferred
- Experience working with a global technology supplier distributing into the African continent would be ideal
- Extensive business network in the mining industry is a big advantage
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business development and operational management
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, product lifecycle and market trends
- Focus on driving growth and profitability
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic plan to achieve business goals for the group of companies
- Identify market opportunities and drive growth and expansion strategies
- Provide visionary leadership and direction for all subsidiaries and departments
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
- Manage the company budget in collaboration with the Financial Director
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions where needed
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, suppliers, shareholders and stakeholders
- Act as primary contact for major clients and resolve high level issues
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and meetings
- Lead, mentor and inspire a high performing executive team
- Implement talent development programmes for EXCO, managers and employees
- Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to stay ahead of trends
- Drive business development initiatives to attract new clients and expand market share
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on effective sales strategies
