About the role

You will work with high value clients who have varied and complex requirements, so you will need to be comfortable preparing and motivating credit applications, managing costs, and driving sales within your portfolio. The role combines proactive sales with strong service management, and you will be expected to use customer relationship management principles to keep clients satisfied and loyal.

Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Finance is preferred.
- At least 5 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the Business Banking environment.
- Experience managing a complex portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis.
- Proven track record in client relationship management for high value clients with varied and complex needs.
- Significant experience in preparing and motivating Credit applications.
- Experience with cost control and sales management.
- Knowledge of business economics, the current business economic environment, and local market sales principles.
- Understanding of credit principles and practices, legal entities in the commercial market, and relevant legislation like FAIS and FICA.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship management, negotiation, problem solving, decision making, commercial thinking, strategic thinking, communication, influencing, and analytical skills.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide a proactive business banking sales and service management function for a portfolio of business clients.
- Retain and grow your portfolio by identifying and implementing value adding specialised business banking financial products and solutions.
- Manage relationships with high value business clients, understanding their varied and complex needs.
- Prepare and motivate credit applications for business clients.
- Control costs and manage sales activities within your portfolio.
- Use CRM insights to influence client management approaches and strategies.
- Monitor and manage external conditions like economic, political, legislative, and climatic factors that may impact client industries and markets.
- Ensure compliance with FAIS and FICA regulations in all client interactions.
