About the role
As a Business Banker at Capitec in Pietermaritzburg, you will play a key role in providing sales and service to business clients. Your main focus will be on retaining and growing a portfolio of business customers by identifying and implementing value adding financial solutions. You will be based at a business centre and will work with a range of standard and customised banking products to meet the needs of small enterprises and other business clients.

Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Diploma in Commerce or Finance
- Ideal: FAIS accredited as Key Individual and approved by FSCA
- Minimum experience: At least 3 years of banking experience
- Experience managing a portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis
- Experience in preparing and motivating credit applications
- Experience in cost control and sales management
- Ideal: 1 or more years in a Business Banking environment preparing and motivating credit applications
- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management principles and techniques
- Ability to interpret financial statements, balance sheets and basic financial ratios
- Knowledge of standardised business banking transactional products and other core products for small enterprises
- Understanding of collateral and balance sheets
- Knowledge of multiple legal entities such as companies, close corporations and sole proprietorships, and the legislative requirements governing them
- Familiarity with the Companies and Intellectual Properties Registration Act for correct documentation and mandate preparation
- Awareness of competitors' offerings
- Knowledge of regulations, Acts and Codes related to the banking environment, including FAIS and FICA
- Ideal: Understanding of features, benefits and value propositions of the company's product or service offerings
- Ideal: Knowledge of current taxation laws as they apply to customers
- Ideal: Good knowledge of administration processes and procedures for Business Banking transactions
- Skills: Analytical, problem solving, attention to detail, decision making, computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook), commercial thinking, strategic thinking, communication, interpersonal and relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Must have a clear criminal and credit record
- Willingness to work flexible hours including Saturdays and public holidays
