About the role
Pick n Pay is looking for a Baker who takes pride in producing fresh, high quality baked goods. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, baking and finishing bakery products while making sure everything is merchandised and displayed according to company standards.
What the role involves:
- Preparing, baking and finishing a range of bakery products
- Merchandising and displaying products to laid down standards
- Keeping the bakery, floor and back up areas clean, hygienic and safe
- Operating and cleaning bakery equipment correctly and reporting any faults
- Following security procedures and completing production and order documentation
You will work as part of a hands on team in a busy retail bakery environment. The role requires someone who can work early hours, follow recipes and guidelines accurately, and stay consistent with routine work while keeping a positive attitude.

Requirements
- Experience as a Baker within a bakery or retail environment
- Passion for baking and creating high quality, delicious products

Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake and finish bakery products according to laid down standards
- Merchandise and display products to company standards
- Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards in the bakery, floor and back up area
- Adhere to and maintain security procedures
- Operate and clean equipment according to laid down standards
- Maintain equipment and report defective machinery or utensils to the bakery manager
- Complete relevant administration and documentation such as production sheets and customer orders
- Work early hours as required by the bakery schedule
