Sasso Consulting is looking for experienced Azure Security Specialists to protect and monitor Microsoft Azure cloud environments in Johannesburg. This permanent role is perfect for a cybersecurity professional with at least three years of hands on Azure security experience who wants to work on enterprise grade cloud infrastructure. You will handle everything from Defender for Cloud and Sentinel to Entra ID and compliance with ISO 27001 and NIST standards.
About the role
Sasso Consulting is hiring an Azure Security Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg. You will play a key role in securing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure cloud environments for enterprise clients. This is a permanent, full time position suited to someone who enjoys hands on cloud security work and wants to grow within a specialised consulting environment.
Your day to day will involve implementing and maintaining security controls across Azure, configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel, and managing identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, MFA and Conditional Access policies. You will also secure Azure networks using Azure Firewall, NSGs and Web Application Firewall, manage Azure Key Vault and encryption, and automate security processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI and Terraform. Threat monitoring, incident investigation, vulnerability remediation and compliance with standards like ISO 27001, NIST and CIS will be part of your regular routine.

Requirements
- Relevant IT, Computer Science or Cybersecurity degree or diploma
- Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure, cloud or cybersecurity experience
- At least 3 years of hands on Microsoft Azure security experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience with Azure networking, identity security and threat detection
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI and security automation
- Experience securing complex enterprise cloud environments
- Microsoft AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200 or SC-300 certifications advantageous
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and incident response skills
