Overview
Watershed Consulting is looking for an Assistant TMM Fitter or Diesel Mechanic to support qualified artisans in maintaining trackless mobile machinery at a mining operation in Boksburg. This fixed term role is ideal if you have underground TMM experience and want to grow your mechanical career in mining.
About the role
As an Assistant TMM Fitter or Diesel Mechanic, you will work closely with the Workshop Manager and Trade Tested Artisans to keep Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) running safely and reliably. This is a hands on role based in Boksburg, supporting maintenance, servicing and assembly work in a mining environment.
You will receive daily duties, attend to office hours and after hour breakdowns, and ensure all parts and oils used are reported. You will dismantle parts as instructed, return them to the supervisor, and help artisans make sure TMM is functionally reliable. Maintaining housekeeping standards and following Health and Safety rules will be part of your daily routine.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Previous underground TMM experience required
- OEM experience advantageous
- Underground Mining experience advantageous
Responsibilities
- Receive duties from the Workshop Manager or Trade Tested Artisans
- Attend office hours and after hour breakdowns
- Ensure all parts and oils used on the job are reported
- Perform all tasks to OEM standards
- Disassemble and dismantle parts as instructed
- Return parts to the supervisor
- Assist artisans to ensure TMM is functionally reliable
- Maintain housekeeping standards daily
- Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained
