A casting metal factory in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs needs an immediately available Accounts Payable Clerk for a 3 month contract. You will run the full AP function, process payments, and reconcile the AP ledger. If you have 4+ years in a similar role within logistics, freight, or manufacturing and can hit the ground running with minimal supervision, this is a great short term opportunity.
About the role
This contract role is with a casting metal factory based in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs. You will join a unified, high performing finance team on a 3 month basis and play a key part in keeping the accounts payable function running smoothly.
You will need to be an independent thinker and worker who needs minimal supervision and can start immediately.
Key duties include:
- Running the full accounts payable function
- Processing accounts and incoming and outgoing payments in line with policies and procedures
- Handling day to day financial transactions
- Preparing remittances and payments, customer invoices, and statements
- Reconciling the AP ledger

Requirements
- Completed National Diploma in Accounting or Finance
- 4 or more years of experience in a similar accounts payable role within logistics, freight, or manufacturing
- Solid understanding of processes and policies, which will be assessed
- Strong management skills
- Goal driven and able to work with minimal supervision
- Available immediately
Responsibilities
- Process accounts and incoming and outgoing payments according to policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions
- Prepare remittances and payments, customer invoices, and statements
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger
- Monitor incoming payments and secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts
- Provide financial, administrative, and clerical services to the finance team
