Sasso Consulting is hiring an experienced Active Directory Specialist in Johannesburg. You will manage Microsoft AD environments, security hardening, hybrid identity and PowerShell automation for enterprise clients. About the role
Sasso Consulting is looking for an experienced Active Directory Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will help administer, secure and maintain Microsoft Active Directory environments across complex enterprise IT infrastructures.
You will work with AD DS, Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, LDAP and Kerberos to keep authentication services running smoothly. You will also support Microsoft Entra ID integration and hybrid identity synchronisation, automate admin tasks with PowerShell, and assist with system monitoring, backups and disaster recovery. There is also scope to support AD upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvements.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Johannesburg. Employment terms and benefits will be confirmed with shortlisted candidates. Market related remuneration applies.
Requirements
- Relevant IT diploma or degree
- Minimum 3 to 5 years hands-on Active Directory administration experience
- Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise Active Directory environments
- Strong knowledge of AD DS, GPOs, domain controllers, DNS, LDAP and Kerberos
- Solid Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experience
- Practical PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Experience with Active Directory security, privileged access and system hardening
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments
- Relevant Microsoft certifications advantageous
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Active Directory forests, domains, domain controllers and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Manage user accounts, security groups, permissions and privileged access
- Troubleshoot Active Directory replication, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos and authentication issues
- Implement Active Directory security hardening and access controls
- Support Microsoft Entra ID integration and hybrid identity synchronisation
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell
- Perform system monitoring, maintenance, backups and disaster recovery activities
- Support Active Directory upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvements
